CAREER PATHWAY in ESPORTS

Overview

This online course introduces students to career pathways within the Esports industry and helps them understand how a personal interest in Esports translates into marketable career skills. The course focuses on exploring specific Esports job roles within the career clusters and pathways of information technology, business, engineering, and sports management, along with a BONUS module on Entrepreneurship Careers in Esports.

Highlights

The course consists of five modules and a 6th Bonus module, aligned to career education standards. Career ready practices, those broad, transferable “soft” skills necessary to enter and succeed in any field, are integrated throughout the course. Instructional highlights for each interactive module include:

  • Exploring job profiles, qualifications, and career paths
  • Meeting professionals through video clips, interviews and virtual workplace tours
  • Activities and mini-projects that simulate the work of the field and provide opportunities to practice marketable skills
  • Checks for understanding
  • Mini Projects /Quests

Course-Related Guides

  • Implementation Structures: This course is written as a nine-week exploratory class, but it can be adapted to an 18-week course or after-school program format. The project-based modules and dig deeper activities support extended learning based on student interest. There is a bonus module that focuses on Entrepreneurship Careers in Esports.
  • Instructor Manual: Qualifications needed; the possibility of the coach as course instructor; this module would train the course instructor and or coach
